Woman Secret ~ Paleo-Secrets what you can Learn from Steve Jobs and his and my 5 Steps towards us Helping you "Get a Life"
“Good things take time…but great things happen all at once.”
That quote comes from the movie "Rat Race".
It being a ridiculous comedy where a bunch of normal people are seen competing to find a bag full of money.
So how did I come to recognize the value of this Jobs quotation?
Here am I several years ago with Stage 4 Non Hodgkin Lymphoma Cancer which is a deadly blood disease found in the bone marrow. In fact, my doctor told me if I hadn’t come to him when I did I would not be here today. If it wasn’t for my chemo treatments and family prayers, I wouldn’t be alive today. If anyone is interesting, I have a picture of me when I was sick in a past blog post.
But now that I have a second chance of life, I am sharing with these 5 steps of you gaining a second chance at life too by following all 5 of these Steps that I daily use.
I also have added this more recent picture on the right, just so you can see what I look like today, now that I am in remission and back on my feet.
So what is the Paleo Secret? The Paleo-Secret is a 5 Step planning system that you can use to become more in the moment more alive and become a better leader and problem solver. It is more about leadership than a new management process.
We believe that due to our entering a more digital age, we need to think more like a Paleo Hunter/Gather than any other time in history and here is what and how we can do it including our reasons why. Even Einstein suggests the same about our Paleo era:
“Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better”.
It may seem unnatural to apply this system at first, but the more you can make living more Paleo like, and into a daily practice the better your life will unfold and the freer person you will can become.
These are not just my ideas but were ideas that Steve Jobs used too in his running of the most creative company of the century. This could be the reason, as to why, we believe Harvard states Jobs was the best CEO of our time. But several of these steps are what Jobs while he lived, implemented too.
Ashton Kutcher in playing Jobs in a movie as said to have spent 3 months learning to walk like Steve Jobs.
“For three months, Kutcher prepared for the role both mentally and physically, which meant learning to move and act like Jobs. Specifically, he spent a lot of time studying Jobs’ unique manner of lifting his feet while walking, which he attributes to the sometimes eccentric CEO’s practice of walking barefoot while doing his best to avoid constantly stubbing his toes.”
For your information the practice of walking barefoot is a trait reserved to someone who frequently goes on long walks alone in nature. To which Kutcher said about Jobs, “The experience was clearly an intense one for Kutcher, who said, “I loved a man I never knew.”’
I believe Kutcher fell in love with Jobs it was because as he played him, he recognized that as Jobs; he too was experiencing his very own authentic life. One of which Jobs lived every day of his life.
Another creative genius who used a similar system was Einstein.
After Einstein died, they removed his brain and guess what they found, Einstein had an average size brain just like us all. It wasn’t the brain size of Einstein as well as Jobs mind size too that was important, but I believe it was the thought system that each used to think more creatively. And this system is not only their secret, but how they thought is available to all human beings too.
For Einstein said, “The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination”.
All of these 5 steps are what Steve Jobs used to do while he was alive. Did you know that Jobs was a walker and used many of these 5 steps to take Apple into the forefront of his competitors? So in looking at this graph, where do you suppose that you fit in?
I added a graph in one of the links below which might shock most of you outlining that in the US even though incomes have gone up only 30% of the people in the US remain truly happy. It also shows that this same percentage has not changed over the years.
The issue at stake here is not only about us gaining a better technology including that of increasing incomes, but I believe it becomes more of an issue of where human beings like you and I know how to find and experience enduring happiness.
So I have created these 5 Steps hoping that more of you can use them to find and experience the happiness of being human that we all truly deserve. These are steps I use daily and they work for me.
Also, I have researched the famous Apple Steve Jobs who along with what I read about his life, many of these habits after he had become ill, he was said to have practiced them too.
The reason I am referring to it in Paleo terms is because I believe they were the first people to join the Human Club, which is a club where the happiness we seek suggests that less is more. And as we enter the Hi Tech digital era, it is a need that as we advance technologically we must remember.
Because both Jobs and I feel that getting back to the basics of living and incorporating a more simplified way of life, is something I believe that human kind needs to do, for human life to continue as a productive and happy group.
So let’s begin with my research on what being happily HUMAN is all about:
Step 1 It is about us becoming more physically ALIVE: We need to walk more and do 10,000 Steps a day ~ Humans were made to Walk ~ American’s walk only 5,000 steps a day to 10,000 steps of an average European. It’s by becoming More Physically Active and Alive ~ and Walking more often. In fact, sitting in our digital age is becoming our next epidemic and one you should work hard to avoid. Try to walk at least 30 minutes or more and as often as you can even in your job, for better thinking and better health. And once you begin walking begin working on Step 2.
Step 2 It is about us becoming a student or yourself. I learned this while Walking, as I Journalize to keep my Story Current ~ you too need to begin to journalize your own personal life story by writing down your ideas to keep a Creative and gain a FREER Mindset. Buy a small booklet and write your ideas down as they flow. If you don’t write things down you keep thinking about things which clouds more mind and inner vision. Why writing because you want this process to be less digital. One problem we have today is we like a juggler have so many balls in the air and so many decisions to make and the Paleo’s had less to think about than us. This made them more aware of life and what was going on around them than many of us do today. Even though this process may feel awkward at first, Step 3 tells you what you will experience.
Step 3 It is about us gaining a more happiness throughout our day. “Carpe Diem” or “Seizing your Day” or each morning and throughout the rest of your day ~ Once you begin journalizing then you will enter a more Creative and Flowing Lifestyle. It is because you need to keep a clear mind like the Paleo who was prepared for Danger at any moment of whether it was the Lion or Tiger is coming at him out of the forest, or even today, being prepared for any unexpected event or surprises that may enter your life. It is also a method we can use which Abraham Maslow would suggest will make you more Self-Actualized and a happier person. Next Step 4 explains how the system works to your benefit.
Step 4 It is about us being willing to enjoy and experience a life of rich conversations among family and friends. Because we as humans are a social animal, good conversation begins with you having a good story to tell and listening intently to the stories of others. In fact, listening is more important ideal at first; and then sharing your story last. I find it is better to listen to the others story, and after they have spoken, then offer them what you know. In fact, cafés were a continuation of the campfire practice in order to create good conversation over a cup of coffee.
Step 5 It is about us experiencing a better life through personal reflection. Reflection and Recall both went well and what went wrong is where you can go back over your life and highlight in yellow all of your best ideas ~ Today we live in a fact rich digital age were information is so abundant so you will need to rely on a more creative system such as journalizing and applying it also into a Gathering Process. This system allows for two processes which can be used towards eliminating excess and worthless information but at the same time storing valuable material. You want to do this so as to help you solve pressing present and important future problems whenever they may occur.
Try all 5 Steps from this day on and I promise your life will become further productive, happier and more fulfilling. Start this 5 Step system today; for it could change your life forever.
