Women's Secret ~ Why Women rather than Men, have and Continue to Move ahead of Men at Work, and Up the Ladder of Financial and Economic Success.
Redently, we have experienced a Trump win and he vows to bring manufacturing jobs back to the US.
If you have noticed, most of those displaced during outsourcing to China, and many other Developing Country locations, is principly, it has been the men's jobs that have disappeared.
However, in many homes where the man no longer works, it may be his wife, who works while he stays home. This is a total reversal of things about 50 years ago, when it was the man who worked, and the woman who remained home to raise the kids. In this reveral, both men and women, seem to be at whits end with the reversal of roles.
However, there have been definite reasons for this change.
The first reason being, is because women are more apt, until lately to enter Care professions, Men somehow, at least the older men, would never have been seen moving into those professions, such as nursing, school teaching to name a few, commonly referred to as female jobs.
It seems as if woman have had to enter these jobs because men no longer needed as suggested above and were laid off or where in fact, if they searched for work, due to outsourcing, those jobs could never be found.
Also, with the growth of Baby Boomers aging, has caused many of these jobs to grow, so women entering these Care professions where always able to find work.
So to keep the family aflout, many womenlet go of their house staying roles, rolled up their sleeves, and went off to work.
They did so not only to keep their famies in change, but they were able to find work because there were more Care jobs available to them than men,therefore, many entered the care professions, to do jobs that many men, had refused to do.
Not until recently, do we see more younger men entering those same professions.
The second reason is something that many women of today fight for which is equal pay, However, much earlier most women made less than men. It was thought back then the man is the provider and the women only needs part time work, so her pay doesn't need to be equal to a man.
What these women don't realize is that receiving less than men, it allowed many women to be chosen for a job, if she could do it as good as a man, over a man. This back then might have been a benefit, because firms have budgets, so it allowed many firms to hire more women than men to get more work done.
Women asking for equal pay somehow fail to recognize that many firms due to budgetary consideration, have hired more women than men in the past, for the lower pay reason, but once they receive equal, pay, fewer woman will be hired. So what may be seen as a benefit, could quickly become a disadvantage.
The third reason is that many women in search of receiving higher pay decided to not only graduate with a Bachelor degree, further graduate with a MBA, or any other higher degree to move up the ladder. In doing so, many of these women did increase their pay, which also allowed women to move up while their husbands if they didn't go further in college, remained at home or doing the same job.
I know many women for instance with MBA's,or receiving Bachelor degrees in nursing, or who became Dental Hygenists, who go to work, while their husbands remain home to look after the kids, or do part time work. Or there husband are working at several part time jobs, because working at one job, never pays the bills.
Getting back to Trumps win and desire to bring back manufacturing jobs that many men who were laid off can once again do, time will tell if this will revive the American households, so both men and women jobs and family financial and economic standard of living may improve.
